Regional
ICSP Workshops
Scheduled

NOV. 9, 2009 - As you are aware, the ICSP is required by Canada on March 31, 2010. Failure to comply will result in a breach of the Gas Tax Agreement and suspension of further Gas Tax funding to your community.

To enable each community to meet this requirement the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs has scheduled a series of Regional Workshops between now and mid-January.

Under this plan, each community is invited to send its Senior Administrative Officer and two Council members to attend a Regional Workshop.

A team of MACA staff, NWT Association of Communities Sustainability Coordinator Susan Coyne and Arctic Energy Alliance workers will be available to assist with the drafting of the required plans and entering the data on the Tool. The goal of this workshop is to have draft ICSP’s completed for all communities. The draft plans will then require Council approval.

MACA will reimburse your Council for the most economical means of travel and accommodation expenses for your three (3) delegates. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided to delegates each day.
