Hay River is known as the Hub of the North, for its vital role in the transportation history of the NWT.
It is the end of the CN Rail line and home to the Northern Transportation Company Ltd. (NTCL) shipyard. From here, fuel, food and other materials are transported to communities throughout the NWT.
From May 13-16, 2010, Community Government representatives, GNWT officials and others will gather in Hay River for the NWTAC's 44th Annual General Meeting.
Make sure you mark those dates on your planning calendar for next year - and PLAN TO ATTEND!

JAN. 25, 2010 - The 44th Annual General Meeting of the NWT Association of Communities (NWTAC) is scheduled to take place May 13-16, 2009 in Hay River.
At this time, we would like to inform members that this is your official FIRST CALL for resolutions.
Each Member Community is welcome to bring as many delegates as they choose, as long as they pay the registration fee. However, the number of votes you have is determined by the population of your community. Senior Administrative Officers and other administrative staff are welcome to attend at member rates, however, they are not allowed to vote or participate in discussions.
Non-member delegates can register to attend our AGM. Registration fee includes access to nutrition breaks and meals. As observers, you are not allowed to participate in meetings.
Do you offer a product or service which might be of interest to Community Governments? If so, take a booth in our Info Fair. It's organized when there is sufficient space in a community's facilities.
If your organization wants to address NWTAC Member Communities about
a shared issue of importance, make sure you contact the NWTAC early
because every minute of our agenda is used up quickly.
